Refugee Sponsorship and Support Information Session Edmonton

Organized by Refugees Are Welcome in Edmonton

Light refreshments will be provided

The tragic photos of the death of three-year-old Syrian refugee Alan Kurdi has brought the plight of Syrian and other refugees to global attention, and many Edmontonians have asked the question, “What can I do to help?”

Please come to this free information session to learn more about:
· The process, costs, and expectations involved in sponsoring refugees to come to Canada
· The expedited sponsorship process for Syrian and Iraqi refugees
· How you can act locally in Edmonton to support Syrian and other refugees
· How to support people still in camps or in Syria
· How families can support their relatives still in Syria

Presenters include:
· Paulette Johnson (Refugee Sponsorship Coordinator, Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton)
· Orlando Vasquez (Program Director, Mennonite Central Committee)
· Ayub Umarji (Islamic Family Social Services Association)

Please note this is a general information session. If you have questions about a specific case, there will be an opportunity to schedule appointments for the following few days after the session.
